Pumpkinnnnnn Shoot

For this week's shoot we decided to carve our own pumpkins and set up a display to show them all off. We used leave from outside, collections of different types of ropes, fake props, and all of our pumpkins to make one big scene to shoot. Setting it all up as a class was fun and especially the carving part, too. Hands-on projects are the best way to learn for me, so i think that's why i loved it so much.

Reflection

My favorite edited photo from last year's Photo I was the one where Sara stood on her tippy-toes under the sun and the shadow behind her feet was casting to the side of the image. This one is my favorite because once I put it in black&white, the shadows were even more defined and I just thought it looked really sharp. I consider my strongest piece to be the image where we went down to the track for the whole class and took pictures of the snow. The image is staring off into the snow covered football practice field, with some footsteps leading into it. Its my strongest because right in the middle of the sky, the sun was so bright and the sunlight reflected onto the far back of the field, onto the snow. The assignment I most struggled with was the one where I took a photo of Sara staring sideways, and I had to blend in some type of object to the back of her head. The hardest part was the blending and layering I had to do with the tacks. I would like to enhance my skills of focusing more on the colors and light amount to my photos and learn more on blending layers into each other.

Still-Life Final Exam

For my Still-Life Final I chose this set of still life objects beacuse the seemed kind if child-like to me and I thought it would be interesting to shoot for. They are bright and colorful which is something I really find intriguing about all 5 of these images. My favorite one is the second photo beacuse it doesnt focus on the cap, but around it, on the paint. I really liked the star and the little pop-out colors around it that made it standout.

Surrealist Example

Surrealism is a movement of photography that started in the 1920's and created erractic juxstaposition of images. It basically creates its own Alice In Wonderland world that seems almost realistic. This is an example by Chris McKenney that I'm in love with because of the creepy and scary theme.

Pop Art

For my Pop Art assignment I chose to use my Arnold Palmer from Dunkin Donuts. The photo filter for cutout helped me to get the different darks and light shades to decide what colors to use for my paint swatches. I also, before using the cutout filter, made it black and white to see more of the shadows and layers of colors.

Billy Apple

Pop Art is a movement that was made during the early 1950's, and includes imagery from popular culture such as news, clothing, or celebrities, etc. Billy Apple's work is considered Pop Art because he takes photos of popular brands or people there are in this generation. I like his work beacuse its really simple, but also has alot of color and detail along with it.

Quiche series

This is my series of photos for the food I chose, which was Quiche. The theme was The whole peice, the fork ready to take a chunk of, and then the last and final bite left of it.

Sara's Double Exposure Hands

For my second double exposure I used Sara'a hands and blened it with a layer of a landscape. All I had to do was open both pictures up, blend them together, and fix the black and white levels.

Snow

For my image that we took outside by the track, this was my most favortie. All I had to do was add a little saturation and lighten up the brightness to make it look perfect.
